Starting from Miola, it leads along pleasant tarmac roads through the woods to the hamlet of Faida; from here, a gentle climb takes you to Montagnaga, passing the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Pinè. On the return journey, you cross the Laghestel biotope and from here rejoin the road to Miola.

Author’s recommendation

These areas, which were hit by storm Vaia in October 2018, have radically changed their appearance in places: where there used to be wooded expanses, there are now impressive stretches of bare ground, without any trees, which nonetheless allow for panoramic views and open spaces never seen before. The tour is passable in both directions.

With a diversion, it is possible to reach the Rio Negro waterfalls at Erla di Montagnaga.

Miola of Piné

Turn-by-turn directions

From Miola di Piné, reach the village of Faida. After the church, continue downhill in a southerly direction on a secondary tarmac road and proceed through a wood until you reach a stone bridge. One hundred metres later, turn right (Ippovia - Laghestel). Continue downhill to a group of farmsteads (Maso sassi grandi). From here, take a diversion, following the path to the right, to admire the Rio Negro waterfalls. Then follow the road gently uphill to the hamlet of Erla and on to Montagnaga. Pass under the provincial road to reach the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Piné; continue towards the Comparsa basin, turn right in the direction of Puell and turn right onto a dirt road near an aggregates depot. Reach the hamlet of Bernardi and immediately after the little church turn left. After passing the hamlet, continue on the asphalt road and then along a path between the dry stone walls (between the hamlets of Tess and Palustel). Follow the dirt road around the nature reserve, leave the biotope and follow the municipal road, which crosses the provincial road after 100 m in an easterly direction. Follow asphalt roads marked as cycle paths through the countryside to reach the starting point.
