Turn-by-turn directions

This short tour straddles the ridge between the Lower Valle di Cembra and Valle dell'Adige. After a stretch across woods on the slopes of Monte Corona, the route follows mainly little frequented roads across famous terraced vineyards planted with Müller-Thurgau vines and apple orchards, offering spectacular views of both valleys.. This is where former cycling champions Francesco Moser and Gilberto Simoni were born. From Masen, head for Faedo on a tarmac road until you reach Croce delle Serre. There, bear left along a path which then becomes a forest road that climbs up the slope of Monte Corona right up to the top. From the summit, you enjoy a spectacular view of Valle di Cembra below and of the western section of the Lagorai range. To descend, follow a fairly easy path that joins the forest road you followed on your way up. The latter dives more and more steeply towards Passo Croce. Shortly after the pass, the descent resumes, this time across apple orchards and vineyards. At Maso Spiazol, bear left on a short stretch of dirt road that takes you to a spot just below Maso Toldin. From there, carry on up a short climb and then an undulating stretch past various mountain huts. There are nice views of Valle dell’Adige below and the Brenta Dolomites in the distance. Follow the signs for 'Sentiero della Rosa'. The route begins to climb in the direction of Palù di Giovo. On your way up among vineyards you pass a small church dedicated to Saint George and erected on a site which was used as a hermitage as far back as in the early 15th century. From the village of Palù, carry on climbing along a steep road past the graveyard until you reach the village of Ville di Giovo. From there, follow a dirt road to get back to the starting place at Masen.
