Destination

Scheinberg hikers' car park

Turn-by-turn directions

Start by proceeding in a westerly direction along the forest road into the Säger Valley. At the end of the valley, you ascend somewhat more steeply via two twists in the pathway.

Immediately afterwards, the route branches off to the left to the Hochplatte. Cross the Hasen Valley rift in a southerly direction and proceed onto the Löser Valley rift.

Climb up onto the Löser Valley ridge and proceed down the other side into the Beinlandl. The eastern ridge of the Hochplatte is reached via the Schlössel and the Wilder Freithof.

A wire rope provides assistance in some places as you ascend to the highest point. The descent takes place via the same route as the ascent. Alternatively, as described on the map, you may choose to ascend to the downhill route from the Scheinberg from the level of the Lösertalmösl (a further elevation of approximately 100 metres).

This means that you do not need to cross the Hasen Valley rift and will avoid the less rewarding section of the route through the Säger Valley. After ascending, the further descent takes place via the Hundsfäll rift down to your starting point.
