The Ochsenälpleskopf is a secluded and quiet destination in the Ammer Forest. A somewhat steep ascent through the forest is followed by an attractive north-eastern summit slope.

Ochsenälpeleskopf

Turn-by-turn directions

Behind Hotel Ammerwald, keep to the "Schützensteig" track heading into the valley in a north-westerly direction. Before reaching a bridge, turn left through the forest up a steeper trail up onto the eastern ridge of the Ochsenälpeleskopf.

When you reach the ridge, initially descend gently before climbing more steeply up to the highest point. The final 150 metres features many hairpin bends.

Your descent is in a north-easterly direction with a short counter-climb to the East ridge before returning to your starting point through a forest cutting.
