Ski tour – Pürschlinghaus
Easy and safe ski tour up to a former royal hunting lodge.
easy
Distance 7.1 km
Very popular beginners' ski tour in the Ammergau Alps. This is an attractive route which offers a comfortable climb, an environment that is mostly secure from avalanches and the opportunity to stop off for refreshments at the Pürschlinghaus.
The course was developed in 2015 by the German Alpine Association working in conjunction with local representatives (forestry, hunting and farmers) as part of the “Environmentally friendly mountain skiing and climbing” project.

Turn-by-turn directions
From the car park at the Schleifmühl Gorge/Steckenberg in Unteramergau, a gently ascending forest road will take you up to the Langthal Alm/mountain rescue hut. Up until this point, you will be sharing the upwards trail with tobogganists and will need to watch out for traffic coming towards you.
After passing through the mountain pasture, leave the forest road to your right and ascend in a south-westerly direction to your destination for the day, the Pürschlinghaus. You will go through both forested areas and open terrain.
After a stop-off at the former royal hunting lodge, your descent back into the valley takes place via the Steigalm and the Kurztalgraben rift.
Please make sure that you do not enter forest and game preservation area on the Plattenberg Ridge, which you will pass to your left.
At the end of the rift, you will arrive back on the upwards trail. Follow the toboggan route back down into the valley.
Never get lost again. We recommend our free app "Ammergau Alp tour planner", which includes all tours in the region.
