Insbesondere an den Wochenenden in den Sommermonaten lohnt eine Rast im gemütlichen Biergarten vom Wirtshaus Acheleschwaig, das mit kühlen Getränken auf Sie wartet. Das Wirtshaus hat Freitags bis Montags geöffnet. Besichtigen sie die kleine Kapelle am Wirtshaus. Diese wurde von Herrn Fischer 2012 errichtet und ist den "14 Nothelfern" geweiht.

Begin at the community centre in Saulgrub and pass the "Beim Kargl" country inn heading for the picturesque moorland lake in Bad Bayersoien.
Go around the lake in a northerly direction. After passing under a main road, the path wends its way along the Bärenbach stream over gentle hills whilst offering magnificent views of the first mountains of the Bavarian Alps, of the Kammerl power station and over the Ammer Ravine.
When you arrive at the Scheibum Ravine, you can clearly appreciate how the water has been working its way through the rock for thousands of years and how it finally broke through to continue its route towards Munich.
Proceed to the Fatima Chapel on foot via the Saulgrub Ridge and the Acheleschwaig inn. The chapel is a real architectural gem that also provides the best view of the northern Ammergau Alps. It was constructed by Josef Leismüller in 1949 to offer thanks for his safe return from 5 years as a prisoner of war.
From the chapel, it is only a few minutes' walk back to your starting point in Saulgrub.
