Die Kappelkirche ist nach mündlicher Überlieferung die älteste Kirche im Ammertal. Es lohnt sich einen Blick hinein zu werfen. Rechts vom Eingang bringt Sie ein "Rosenkranzweg" (mit schönen Bildstöcken) nach unten zur kleinen Lourdesgrotte.

Hörnle Mountain, Hörnle cable car/top station - 82433 Bad Kohlgrub

Turn-by-turn directions

Starting from the portal of the small Kappel pilgrim church, bear left. After passing the cattle grid, ignore the sign for the Hörnle Hut and continue straight ahead on a rising meadow pathway heading directly for the Hörnle.

Bear right at the next fork. Following a steep path, you will meet a wider trail and, after passing through a clearing, arrive at a fork. Turn right towards the Hinteres Hörnle. Ascent straight ahead through the forest up to the summit cross of the Mittleres Hörnle.

Descend in a north-westerly direction to a hollow and follow a path under the Vorderes Hörnle to the Hörnle Hut. This stage is only accessible in the summer.

In winter, follow the Wiesmahdweg to the Romanshöhe to return to the signposted Meditation Trail and to continue to the next station at the Passion Play Theatre. In summer, of course, this option is also open to all those who wish to avoid the climb up to the Hörnle.
