Turn-by-turn directions
The landscape is charming, and the climbs are not too strenuous. The difference in elevation over a route of 8 kilometres is only 300 metres. Depending on your speed, it will take you between 45 and 55 minutes to reach the turn-off onto the Frieder near the Rotmoos Alm.
This turn-off is located on the broad col of the Rotmoos Alm and is signposted. The sign is, however, intended for hikers coming from the Loisach Valley. This means that you will initially view it from the rear. Leave your bike here.
A narrow and steep path leads upwards via numerous sharp bends. It begins in the forest, but this soon thins out to become much sunnier. You will reach a spring about 100 metres above Friederalm (1700 metres).
A hike through the grassy southern slope will bring you to the summit of the Friederspitz. From here, an easy path leads from the North side of the Friederspitz down into a grassy hollow and on the other side back up to the summit of the Frieder.
The descent and return ride are identical to the ascent and outward ride.
