Am Eingang zum Naturpark Ammergauer Alpen liegt das Hörnle, der Hausberg Bad Kohlgrubs. Es besteht aus drei Gipfeln: Vorderes Hörnle (1484 m), Mittleres Hörnle (1496 m) und Hinteres Hörnle (1548 m).

Turn-by-turn directions

The tour begins at the car park near the Hörnle ski lift and runs parallel to the lift road. You will meet a forest road, which you then follow in a south-easterly direction to the Ebmahd.

After about 2.5 kilometres, branch off to the right and follow a further hiking trail uphill towards the Hinteres Hörnle (do not proceed via the Elmauberg, this route is closed off!)

You arrive at the mountain station of the Hörnle ski lift and the Hörnle Hut via the Mittleres and Vorderes Hörnle.

The return route is via the family downhill ski run towards Sonnen. From Sonnen, return to the foot of the Hörnle and to your starting point at the Hörnlebahn ski lift.

Der Aufstieg erfolgt lange auf der Rodelbahn. Bei Frühaufstehern wie mir und in der schneefreien Zeit kein Problem, aber wer später losgeht, dem kommen mit Sicherheit viele Rodler entgegen. Dies könnte zu gefährlichen Begegnungen führen. Im Winter auch gut als Schneeschuhtour geeignet.

Traumhafte Tour mit phänomenalen Aussichten. Vom Hinteren und Vorderen Hörnle zum einen Sicht auf Ammersee, Starnberger See und Staffelsee und auf der anderen Seite die wunderschöne Gebirgskulisse. Tour fast nach dem Vorschlag gemacht. Vorsichtig sein sollte man auf den schneebedeckten Wegen, die teilweise glatt sind. Bergab teilweise Grödel aufgezogen und alles war spitze.
