A short but eventful circular hike that starts at the mountain station of the Laber cable car.

This panoramic circular hike with optional via ferrata on the Ettaler Manndl (caution, via ferrata set required, difficulty A / B!), But which can be avoided, scores with wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. The ascent and descent with the nostalgic Laber cable car is an experience and from the sunny terrace of the Laberhaus you have the best view in the entire Ammergau Alps.

Turn-by-turn directions

From the mountain station, the path takes about 20 minutes over the "Nebele" to the first fork in the road. Follow the “Ettaler Mandl” sign, after 15 minutes past the junction to Ettal, after another 5 minutes you will reach the entrance to the via ferrata on the Ettaler Mandl. The half-hour detour to the striking Mandl is rewarded with a wonderful view - hikers who are not quite sure-footed or have a head for heights can do without the climbing, circle the Mandl and go straight to the Soilasee. Past the lake, serpentines lead uphill to the "first fork in the road". On the way there are always wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. In spring and summer the rich flora is enchanting, with a little luck you can even see the odd chamois. The way leads us back to the mountain station, where the host is looking forward to your visit!
