Mountain bike tour – around the Trauchberg

At the next turn-off, continue left towards the "Hubertus Chapel". At the next fork, take a right in the direction of the "Brunnenkopf". The forest pathway now climbs steeply in some areas and, after a level section, leads past the "Mardersteig Hut" which is on the edge of the road to the right.

About 300 metres after the hut, turn off to the right onto the narrow footpath leading to Trauchgau, cross a narrow bridge and, after a further 30 metres, descend to the right towards Trauchgau. After an initially steep descent, you will travel over relatively flat terrain past the "Geometric and Watershed Hut" alongside the River Halblech to reach an asphalt road, which you follow into the village of Halblech itself.

At the sawmill Halblech, take a right turn over the bridge and, after a further 250 metres, turn right again towards Trauchgau. In Trauchgau, take a right into Austraße heading for "Trauchgauer Almstube".

After a gravel works, take a left to follow the sign for "Oberreithen-Schober" until just before you reach Oberreithen. Then turn right on the asphalt road, following the sign for "Wieskirche". At a point where three roads meet (by turning left a diversion to the famous Wieskirche Church is possible, outward and return journey about 6 kilometres), leave the asphalt road and proceed via the gravel-surfaced "Königstraße" via Unternogg back to Altenau.
