Author’s recommendation

Im ehemaligen königlichen Jagdhaus, dem Pürschlinghaus, gibt es zwar keinen "kaiserlichen Schmarren", dafür aber sehr leckere hausgemachte Kuchen.

Destination

Pürschling

Turn-by-turn directions

The challenge begins right from the car park. The forest road is extremely steep from the very outset, only flattening out for a short period about halfway up. The route then becomes steep once moreand reaches a gradient of 25% shortly before you pass St Joseph's Chapel. This is where you will see the hut for the first time. The surface now changes from gravel to rough asphalt and becomes a little less steep.

When you arrive at the summit of the Pürschling (1564 metres), treat yourself to a well-earned break. Those who wish can ascend for about a further 200 metres up onto the Teufelstättkopf.

The return route is the same as the outward. The short cut in Langenthal just before the brief counter climb downhill to the right is only recommended for expert riders. The route here quickly becomes extremely steep and bumpy.
