Your walk will take you up the meadow slopes of the Ammer Valley to the Romanshöhe mountain inn, from where you will enjoy magnificent views of the Ammergau Alps and of the flowery landscape of PulvermoosMoor, via which you will also make your way back to Oberammergau.

The farmers of the Ammer Valley still cultivate the meadows on the soft slopes in an almost identical way to hundreds of years ago. Follow Altherrenweg to the Romanshöhe mountain inn, which offers the best views of Oberammergau and of the meadow slopes of the Ammer Valley.
Following your visit to the inn, continue until the path branches off at am Roten Bichel shortly before Unterammergau, and retrace your steps back towards the Passion Play venue. Return to Oberammergau via the Pulvermoos, a flat meadowland and hilly landscape with unique flora.
The world-famous Passion Play Theatre also lies on your return route.
