Easy ascent and descent to the Kolbensattel Hut via the ski tour educational trail. The route winds its way up the ski piste, meaning that there is a good guarantee of snow.

The course was developed in 2015 by the German Alpine Association working in conjunction with local representatives (forestry, hunting and farmers) as part of the “Environmentally friendly mountain skiing and climbing” project.

Turn-by-turn directions

The ascent to the Kolbensattel Hut is via an extremely straightforward route. All you need to do is to follow the signposted ski tour educational trail, which begins at the top car park at the Kolbensattel. The path mostly leads along the edge of the piste as it snakes its way upwards. Please be sure to descend alongside the uphill route for the ski tourers at all times so as not to destroy the trail. In the upper section of the tour, your route will occasionally take you through mountain forest.
The descent is via the same route as the ascent.
