Panorama Trail Schwarzatal - 7th stage Schwarzmühle to Dissauer Tor -Thuringian Forest
The Panorama Trail is slowly coming to an end, but on this penultimate stage there is still a lot of uphill work to be done. But not without a reward. At the highest point of the route, the Barigau Tower at 666 m offers a magnificent panoramic view over the central Schwarza Valley.
You start in Schwarzmühle not far from the Flair-Hotel Waldfrieden and follow the course of the river downhill always along the railway line. Passing St. Catherine's Church in Mellenbach-Glasbach, you finally turn north in the district of Glasbach and follow the Barigau Valley to the plateau.
Continue on an easy descent via Oberhain past the liqueur factory A.O. Siegmund to Sitzendorf. Along the Fröbelturmblick and the Schlangenbuche you finally reach the Bismarck Tower. It is one of the oldest Bismarck towers in Germany (built in 1895). A little later you will reach the end of this stage at the Dissauer Tor.
