The Roman path leads from the Monte Rota/Ratsberg, above Toblach, along the forest to Monguelfo/Welsberg.

Turn-by-turn directions

Starting point is the car park nearby the Hotel Monte Rota/Alpenhotel Ratsberg. The hiking tour goes on a well signed path (no. 41) across the meadows of Monte Rota/Ratsberg until Kirchberg. From there across the Montecosta from Villabassa/Niederdorf down to Monguelfo/Welsberg (Castello of Monguelfo/Welsberg castle).

It is possible to interrupt the hike and descent to Dobbiaco on path no. 7 through Melate/ Mellaten, to the Valle di Casis/ Gsiesertal (path no. 7) and Villabassa/Niederdorf (path no. 46).
