"Varied short hike across meadows, stream valleys and vineyards around the Oberwesel high-altitude district of Dellhofen (Dellwe). However, you should bring along a little bit of fitness due to the meters in altitude that have to be overcome.
Distance 6.6 km
Coming from Oberwesel, the round tour starts at the entrance to the village at the Albert Lambrich winery. Views of Schönburg Castle and the vineyards of Oberwesel Engehöll accompany the somewhat steeper part of the hike to the side of the village facing the Hunsrück, where a barbecue area with a recreational area is currently being built. After crossing the K90, the trail follows high hedges that serve agriculture as protection against erosion and frame the small village on this side like a castle wall. Shortly before reaching the Engebach, you will already find vineyards of the St. Wernerberg. Now follows the shady part along the picturesque Engebach, before the tour follows a piece of the Rheinburgenweg towards Oberwesel. Soon there is a view of the Rhine, before the hike leads on an ascending path through the vineyards of the "Römerkrug" back to the starting point. The start of the small tour is possible from the center of the village in any direction.Tip: From the parking lot at the Rheinhöhenhalle, the access route via the Schul and then the Mühlenweg is ideal. Then the gradients are evenly distributed.
