A landmark Fürstenfeldbruck
Situated on the Amper, St. Leonhard’s Church is one of the town’s landmarks. It was consecrated in 1440. To the nave, which is supported by two circular pillars, the three-sided chancel was added at the eastern end. The paintings on the ceiling symbolize the Cross veneration and date from the early 17th century, the furnishings are in Neo-Gothic style. In 1803 the church was purchased by the town and is dedicated to the memory of the victims of both world wars.
A votive mass is held in front of the church on the occasion of the Leonhardifahrt everyyear at the end of October.
