Registry office with representative wedding hall
The old Town Hall – a former merchant house – was built in 1866 according to the blueprints of Johann Marggraff in Neo-Gothic style. Its current face is owed to the conversion into the Neo-Baroque style of 1908/09. The western pediment shows two gold-covered brazen medallions of Duke Louis the Severe and of Emperor Louis the Bavarian, which were donated by Ferdinand von Miller the Younger. Until 1934 the market town’s administration had its seat here. Today the former assembly hall, which shines in new historic splendor, is a popular place for the registry office part of weddings not only with the local people.
