From the flour mill to the city library

When looking upstream from the Amper bridge, one cannot overlook the tower of the former Aumühle, also called Bullachmühle, with its four turrets situated directly on the river. The tower used to be a granary. Being the oldest mill in town it was mentioned in a document for the first time in 1331. The building consists of the partly historical four-story main building and its three annexes. A 19th-century industrial monument, the castle-like powerhouse and the elegant villa are worth the visit.

During renovation work a blaze in 1989 destroyed large parts of the property, which was then rebuilt.
