Conollystrasse 31 is part of the Olympic Village of the 20th Olympic Games in 1972 and was the site of the 1972 Olympic assassination attempt.
Around 4:30 a.m. on the morning of September the 5th, 1972, members of the Palestinian terrorist group "Black September" invaded the house at Conollystraße 31 in the Olympic village and took the Israeli athletes and their supporters hostage.

The Israeli wrestling coach Moshe Weinberg was the first victim to be shot approximately 20 minutes after the hostage-takers had entered the house during an escape attempt. The second victim, the weightlifter Josef Romano, was shot during another escape attempt and died of his injuries shortly afterwards.

The apartment on the first floor of the building was besieged by the terrorists for about 18 hours and was the main site of the 1972 Olympic assassination attempt. From here, all demands on the part of the assassins were made, negotiations were conducted and the rescue attempts of the rescue forces were thwarted.

Today, a plaque at the entrance of the house commemorates the tragedy and commemorates your victims of the September 5, 1972 attack.
