The Schachenhaus is located at 1867m below the royal house on the Schachen (Schachenschloß) and originally served as a supply house for the royal house. The mountain restaurant is a popular resting place for visitors to the botanical Alpine garden and the royal family. Around 70 people can sleep in beds and mattresses.
Due to the Corona pandemic there is a strict reservation obligation for hut overnight stays! We ask you to inform yourself in advance if there are still sleeping possibilities.
Opening hours
Open only in the summer season.
Schachenschloss will open on 1st of July 2022 (due to the G7 summit in Elmau)
