The path around Lake Eibsee is one of the most beautiful and interesting paths. It leads partially along the lake, and partially through thick forest. The crystal clear pale-blue to turquoise-blue water is fascinating. There are lots of impressive views of the lake and the Mount Zugspitze towering over the lake. Lake Eibsee stretches over 4.8 hectares and is up to 34 m deep. It is considered as one of the most beautiful lakes in the Alps thanks to its location just below Mount Zugspitze and its clear greenish shining water. It was created during the last ice age when a mountain collapsed and created the basin of the lake. Nowadays, it is a popular destination.

Author’s recommendation

How about a tour around the lake with the motorboat called “Reserl” or with one of the pedal boats or rowboats? In any case, don’t forget your swimming gear in the summer.
