The hiking path via the Schönau to the Eckbauer starts at the Olympia Skistadion (Olympic Skiing Stadium). Your climb will be rewarded by fantastic views - not only over the town and the Valley of the Loisach, but also in the southern direction over the mountain range of the Wetterstein Mountains and even to the Schachen Castle of the Fairy-Tale King (King Ludwig II).

Destination

Eckbauer

Turn-by-turn directions

Start at the Olympia Skistadion and walk to the dry tobbogan run. Here, the path to the Eckbauer via Schönau starts. At first, you will walk uphill along the dry tobbogan run until a rather even section follows. The path will continue winding uphill, in which at the top section it will pass below the Eckbauerbahn cable car. When you have reached the plateau of Mount Eckbauer, the great views will make up for the exhausting uphill walk.
