Start at the Olympia Eissport Zentrum (Olympic Ice Sports Centre)/Alpspitz Wellenbad and follow the footpath to the base terminal of the Hausbergbahn cable car.
From there, the new skiing tour route will lead you in the direction of the "Horn" skiing slope and the "Standard-Tonihütten" skiing slope to the top of the mountain. As from the winter season 2010/2011, ascending backcountry skiers are prohibited to use the skiing slopes and slopes, except for said ascent route.

There is an hourly connection from München Hbf (Munich central station) to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. In Garmisch-Partenkirchen, take the ski bus or the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn (simply follow the underpass); The Zugspitzbahn timetable coincides with the arrival and departure times of the Deutsche Bahn trains.
Take the motorway A95 from Munich to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and then follow the state road B2 to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the Garmisch part of the town (Ortsteil Garmisch). Follow the course of the road (Burgstraße, Promenadestraße) and the signs to the Olympia Eissport Zentrum and the Alpspitz Wellenbad.
When coming from Mittenwald/Innsbruck, take the state road B2 to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and follow the Hauptstraße (main street). Turn left at the town hall intersection (3rd traffic light). Follow the course of the road (Bahnhofstraße, St.-Martin-Straße) and the signs to the Olympia Eissport Zentrum and the Alpspitz Wellenbad.
When coming from Reutte/Ehrwald/Tirol/Grainau, take the state road B23 to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and turn right into Gernackerstraße at the second traffic light. Follow the course of the road (St.-Martin-Straße) and the signs to the Olympia Eissport Zentrum and the Alpspitz Wellenbad.
