Die Besonderheit liegt in der sanften und naturbelassenen Originalität, regionale, hausgemachte Brotzeiten, mit viel Liebe zum Detail zubereitet. Seit mehreren Generationen bewirtscaftet die Familie Berktold schon Traditionsbauernhöfe in Oberstdorf und pachtet nun schon seit einigen Jahre die "Flucht", wie sie im Volksmund genannt wird.
Von der Fluchtallpe aus kann man viele schöne Touren machen: in ca. 2 Stunden erreicht man die Fiderepasshütte, in ca. 3 Stunden gelangt man zur Mindelheimer Hütte oder zum Einstieg des Mindelheimer Klettersteigs.
