The Küren-Wäldele trail is located on the Küren-Wäldele-Egg trail. This is about 10 km long and extends from Hirschegg Au to Oberwäldele (round trip). You have the following entrances: Hirschegg Au, Wäldele, Oberwäldele

Turn-by-turn directions

From the starting point in Au, go up into Ladstatt. The only noise you will hear is the possible jingling of sleigh bells. Your ascent takes you into Wäldele with a constant view of the Hoher Ifen. Here, the trail winds past the idyllically situated Bruder Klaus chapel and frozen waterfalls, before your descent towards the starting point. Exertion and relaxation characterise this trail that guarantees an entertaining, exciting spot of cross-country skiing.

Leave the car where it is!

The Walserbus is a convenient way to reach your starting point. Line 3 takes you to the district Wäldele. For this tour you need to get off at the bus stop "Wäldele".

Getting there

Most routes from Germany lead to Ulm before carrying on along the A7. Take the Allgäu junction over a section of the A980 to the Waltenhofen junction, then take the 4- lane B19 via Sonthofen and Oberstdorf to Kleinwalsertal. From Austria (Vorarlberg) and Switzerland you reach the Kleinwalsertal via the Bregenzerwald (Hittisau) – Riedbergpass – Fischen – Oberstdorf. From Tyrol the fastest route is over the A7 to Kempten carrying on along the B19 direction Oberstdorf. A motorway vignette is not required to reach the valley.

Ein sehr schöner, bestens präparierter Rundkurs. Eine tolle Karte gibt am Loipeneinstieg einen Überblick auch zur angrenzenden Egg-Loipe. Die Loipe führt abwechselnd (leicht auf und ab und eben) durch tief verschneite Wäldchen und Wiesen, die den Blick auf die Berge öffnen. Am Ende gibt es zwei schöne Abfahrten.
