Walser Omgang hike - Discover the diversity of life. A balancing day hike passing beautiful huts.
This tour invites you to open, feel and enjoy the senses. At least the pleasure moments should not be neglected at four mountain huts along the way ... Fabulous summit views from the Walmendingerhorn cable car make the hike a real panoramic tour.
The GenussHütte (Gourmet Hut) Innerer Stierhof am Walmendingerhorn and the GenussHütte Melköde in Schwarzwassertal spoil you with regional products.
Hiking trails, huts and attractions can also be found in the nature adventure map, which can be purchased at the tourist office in Hirschegg.

From the top station of the Walmendingerhornbahn it goes down an initially wide path and later along the slope to the upper Lüchlealp. Only a little later, the path leads around the corner. At the fork in the road, it makes sense to make a short detour to the Inner Stierhof (GenussHütte), which you have to keep to the left. Alternatively, follow the right path over the Starzelalp up to the Ochsenhofer Scharte, the gateway to the Schwarzwassertal. First a bit steeper, then very moderate, it goes past the Schwarzwasserhütte, on bogs with considerable orchid stand and further down in the plateau of the Galt and Melköde, formed by a post-glacial landslide. The pleasure hut Melköde invites you to stop. Then it goes out of the valley, on an almost flat path, over the high moor Wildmoos to Auenhütte.

Take the Allgäu junction over a section of the A980 to the Waltenhofen junction, then take the 4- lane B19 via Sonthofen and Oberstdorf to Kleinwalsertal. From Austria (Vorarlberg) and Switzerland you reach the Kleinwalsertal via the Bregenzerwald (Hittisau) – Riedbergpass – Fischen – Oberstdorf. From Tyrol the fastest route is over the A7 to Kempten carrying on along the B19 direction Oberstdorf. A motorway vignette is not required to reach the valley.
