Liechtenstein Trail with e-bike: Stage 1 Balzers-Vaduz

From the Swiss-Liechtenstein boundary stone the route takes riders directly to Balzers. At Gutenberg Castle it is worth walking up the hill or riding up this on an e-bike. The view is fantastic, and is an excellent place to take fantastic photos. We continue along the “old Landstrasse” to Triesen. On this route it is worth stopping at the Lawena Museum (see opening hours) or taking a little break at the St. Mamerta Chapel.

 

From there, the trail then climbs up to Triesenberg - a steady ascent to 900 metres above sea level. A view across the entire Rhine Valley is the reward for the ascent.

 

On the descent to Vaduz, you pass directly by Vaduz Castle - a beautiful photo opportunity. While the castle is not open to visitors, with the LIstory App it is possible to admire views of the structure. Having arrived in the Städtle district of Vaduz, there is much to explore.
