The starting point is located directly alongside the Jöraboda bus stop before the Malbun Center. Following a brief ascent, the hiking trail bends off to the left. Now follow the sign in the direction of Sassförkle. Having arrived at Sassförkle, you branch off to the left after the crest and take the path to the Guschg Alp. Once you have reached the Alp, you follow the gravel road for a couple of hundred metres, until after a short ascent the trail branches off to the left. This attractive single trail brings you to Güschglehötta, from where you follow the steady and moderate descent of the gravel road. Staying on the road, you pass Hintervalorsch, Mittlervalorsch und Vordervalorsch, before leaving the gravel road once again and following the hiking trail across the meadow to Steg. After a short asphalt section, you cross the access road and the stream, from where the hiking trail rises steeply in the direction of Malbun. You return to the starting point before the Malbun Center mostly on the narrow path, and towards the end once again on a short piece of gravel road.

Author’s recommendation

Warm up well before the trail, or begin slowly, as the route rises an altitude of about 200 metres right from the start. Also make sure you have sufficient energy reserves for the final ascent back to Malbun. More about the author Michael Lenz: https://swisstrailguide.com

Safety information

The trail and the gravel road are well maintained and not exposed. You pass cattle meadows where calves are kept together with their mothers. Keep your distance and slow down to walking speed when passing the mother cows. Do not leave the paths, as part of the route passes through a wildlife protection zone.

Going on a tour requires careful planning. We recommend that you discuss the routes and weather conditions with the local information points in advance. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be closed or interrupted.

Tips and hints

Toilet facilities and the opportunity to refill water flasks can be found at the Malbun Center behind the Jöraboda bus stop.

Is this trail run not enough for you? Then climb Schönberg from Sassförkle via the Drei Kapuziner.

Combine this trail run with a family excursion. Right behind the Malbun Center there is a pleasant playground and a barbecue area. The restaurants in Malbun will also be happy to pamper you with their culinary delights.

As a tip for little adventurers: along the hiking trail to Saassee you will also find the Explorer Path, where a number of surprises and exciting facts are waiting to be discovered.

The Alp Guschg is open and operated from approx. mid-June.

Ist aber etwas knapp beschrieben für die lange Rundtour. Der Weg durch die Valörscher ist landschaftlich schön aber halt lang auf der Kiesstrasse
