The most recent chapel in the Lötschental is situated on the Lauchernalp and was constructed in 2002. It is dedicated to the Brother Klaus of Flüe. Brother Klaus, also known as Niklaus of Flüe, is the patron saint of Switzerland. His official commemoration day is 25th September. The chapel is particularly striking because of its modern and individual architecture. The chapel festival of the Lauchernalp Chapel is held every year on the first Sunday in September.
