The Lötschental Panoramic Trail is one the longest and best-known Alpine trails in the Valais. Situated almost entirely between 1,900 and 2,100 metres above sea level, this route offers hikers a magical panoramic view of Lötschental.
The western route of the Lötschentaler Höhenweg leads from the Lauchernalp mountain station via Hockenalp, Kummenalp, Restialp, Faldumalp and Meiggenalp to Jeizinen. Once in Jeizinen (high above the Rhone Valley), you can take the cable car to Gampel. From there, for example, take the PostBus back to the Lötschental. This hike is also highly recommended in the opposite direction.
