Anenlücke

Turn-by-turn directions

From Blatten, follow the winter hiking trail up to the Fafleralp car park. The winter trail to the Anenhütte is signposted and marked with red posts.
From the Fafleralp car park, continue on past Gletscheralp, and after 150 m turn right over the Lonza bridge climbing gently through the last larch forest. From the Grundsee Lake, follow the middle of the valley through unbelievably beautiful countryside to the next bridge where you switch to the other side of the valley. The climb is a little steeper from here. The final slopes are a little more challenging but are nevertheless manageable. Your ascent will be well rewarded when you arrive at the Anenhütte. There is overnight accommodation in the Anenhütte if you wish. For further information on the Anenhütte: Tel. +41 (0)79 864 66 44, www.anenhuette.ch.

From the Anenhütte, your destination for the day will become visible in the morning sun - the Anenlücke pass. The trail continues over gently rising slopes up to the lateral moraine of the Anen Glacier. Follow the moraine up to the crest of the Anenlücke. This is snow-shoe trekking against the matchless backdrop of magnificent mountain scenery, amidst the UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Swiss Alps.

Return along the same trail to Blatten (Duration: approx. 5 hours).
