The young visitors can experience everything about life and work on the Alp Einst und Heute at 14 stands. The plants are explained through diaguic holes, a wooden cow can be milked, the typical scythe swing can be practiced and a song can be composed on bells. The playful stations should sensitize the children to the treasures of the Lötschental and bring them closer to the importance of a cultural landscape. The hike with the children lasts about 1.5 hours and takes about 45 minutes. For your information: chairlift on the Lauchernalp not in operation in summer.

Background of the trail
The grazing and mowing of alpine meadows has shaped the alpine landscape for centuries, without which the meadows would quickly become shrubby and wooded. Alpine farming has therefore not only determined the life and culture of the Lötschental, but has also created the cultural landscape typical of the Alps - a landscape that makes the valley so special and attractive. Rich meadows, the ringing of cowbells, the humming of bees and locusts, an incredible mountain backdrop with sharp ridges and glistening glaciers. The romantic idea that most people associate with the theme of the alp is, however, often a deceptive one. Because life on the alp used to be associated with hard work, and the reward for the effort was modest. The rough weather on the mountain and the forces of nature have caused additional difficulties for the farmers and claimed many victims.
