Mozart Cycle Path - Stage 01: Salzburg-Unzing (near Eugendorf)

Salzburg/Mozartplatz – take the cycle path on the left bank of the Salzach river downstream until you reach Makartsteg – on the right bank of the Salzach to the Altersbach confluence just before the motorway underpass – go along the right-hand side of the Alterbach, a small river, (turn-off to the Wallfahrtskirche Maria Plain) – there are a number of rail and road underpasses – keep going straight ahead on the country road – here then starts the route of the former Ischlerbahn railway line, which we follow for a distance of 8 km, rising slightly, to Eugendorf – here you go left over the Dürnbichlweg to the church – after this, turn right into a small pedestrian underpass (where we have to push our bicycles) – into a side road off the main road to the Gasthof Gschirnwirt – turn right – federal road underpass – slightly uphill to Unzing where the Mozart cycle path splits: to the right, the way into the Mozart village of St. Gilgen, to the left, the route towards Henndorf.
