The first part of the detour into the Mozart village of St. Gilgen takes cyclists to Lake Mondsee via Thalgau. The landscape against the backdrop of the Drachenwand to the south is particularly impressive!
Distance 16.8 km
Unzing – southwards up to the country road – turn left – take the cycle path alongside the road until you reach the motorway underpass, downhill to the Plainfeld turn-off – here, another cycle path begins which runs alongside the road – finally on residential and side roads to Thalgau – past the church, straight on past the school, again on side roads and, later, on a private cycle path along the south bank of the Fuschler Ache river to the border with upper Austria (the signage remains unchanged) – continue on side roads past some hamlets and up to the Wagnermühle turn-off, just before the romantic church of St.Lorenz.
