The Mozart cycle path mainly runs along the Inn river between Wasserburg am Inn and Rosenheim. Going past the Kloster Altenhohenau Monastery which is well worth seeing due to the fine rococo, we reach Rosenheim which, as a former salt trading city, impresses with its Mediterranean flair and the multitude of museums, galleries and gastronomic highlights.
Distance 28.9 km
From the old town of Wasserburg, go back towards the Gasthof ‘Huberwirt am Kellerberg’. Before the inn, go through the underpass under the Salzburger Straße and, on the other side, take an immediate sharp right turn and then the first left towards the castle. At the give way sign, take a half-right and then keep left and cycle towards the Bachmehring church. Turn right onto the Obermüllerstraße, cross Wasserburgstraße and go through an industrial area to the intersection with the Prienerstraße. Keep going straight ahead on a side road to Höhfelden, turn left there and continue on to Spielberg. The route is signposted with the white-green ‘Inntal’ cycle path signs. In Kerschdorf, turn right and, at the entry to the town, take the left fork to Griesstätt and then turn immediately right again. Continue straight on after Laiming, downhill and turn left onto the appropriate cycle path towards Kloster Altenhohenau Monastery. There, take the first turn left to Griesstätt. In front of the church in Griesstätt, turn right onto the Hofmarkstraße, and then follow the ‘Inntal’ signposts on the left. At the next junction, you have the opportunity to choose upon which Inn river bank you want to cycle. At the Inndamm, continue on to Rosenheim, passing the towns of Rott am Inn and Erlensee.
