From the junction on the southern edge of Bad Reichenhall’s town centre, we cross the Tiroler Straße into the city centre with its many attractions – we leave the city in a northerly direction via the Salzburger Straße, past the parks and the St. Zeno Church which the Mozart family visited – turn right onto the Marzoller Weg – we go through Weissbach and Marzoll ‘below’ the castle of the same name, to the old small border crossing. Immediately thereafter, we reach the Großgmainer country road/Grödig junction – now take the cycle path to the left along the country road making sure you always follow the Tauernradweg signposts – go past the Salzburger Freilichtmuseum open air museum (although it would be good to plan a longer visit here) – downhill – take a right before the motorway underpass – through the Walser Wiesen and Gois to Viehhausen – take a sharp right here to the Glan – go along this – over the Schwarzgrabenweg to the cycle path on Moosstraße – over the Moosbrucker-Weg and Nissen-Straße to Lake Leopoldskroner Weiher – from here, it zigzags somewhat on cycle paths and backroads to the Nonntaler Brücke bridge and into the centre of the city of Mozart.
