The rock formations are the most remarkable feature on this hiking tour. They consist of colourful, decimetre-sized, rounded limestone and dolomite scree. This type of rocks is known as "muschelkalk conglomerate or Uggowitz-Breccia‘‘. The rocks were formed during the Upper Trias (around 230 million years ago). The layer is 44 m thick, building the foundation of the Kammleitn summit.

Starting at the border, we walk toward the Watschiger Alm in direction Kühweger Thörl. From there, we carry on in direction lower terminus "Fis" and walk across the piste to the upper terminus of the Gartnerfkofel chair lift.  We continue on this way, which leads back to our starting point (Nassfeldpass).

From the state border you go in the direction of Watschiger Alm, in the direction of Kühweger Thörl. From there you go in the direction of the top station "Fis" and cross the slope until you reach the top station Gartnerfkofel chairlift. Here the path leads you back to the starting point, (Nassfeldpass)
