Playground Jochmannstraße, Görlitz

An arched path leads from the entrance at Jochmannstraße to the entrance gate of the "library garden". The latter is available during the library's opening hours. The upgraded lawn and planting areas expand the possibilities for use. The interspersing of bamboo and solitary shrubs creates exciting niches, spatial impressions and hiding places. The plants were selected thematically according to woody plants, grasses and perennials native to East Asia.

The installed play equipment represents a world full of energy and magical spaces. Curved shapes of the play structures allow a retreat from the ordinary. Through the use of new materials, vibrant colours and the opportunity for individual design as well as a selection of traditional play activities, imagination and movement are stimulated anew at the playground at Jochmannstraße.

The attraction of the playground is the large "Summit" play combination, which is made up of a well thought-out system of climbing steps and holds on posts and walls, as well as ladders, and can be fully climbed from inside and outside. With its railing bars and a huge stainless steel slide, "Summit" offers space for many hours of activities and training exercises. There are retreat areas to get comfortable or rest.

A play space is not complete without a swing. Swinging back and forth is a basic movement and is not only fun for little people. The dinosaur swing with tyres strengthens children's skills and offers new challenges.

Opening hours
