Lake Molveno is the second biggest of the lakes in the Trentino region, for area and depth. This bathing resort, with its incredible variety of colours, is 4.5km long, 1.5 km wide with a maximum depth of 124 metres. What first strikes visitors is its limpid water, the Brenta peaks and the slopes of the Paganella Tableland. An extraordinary exchange of blue and green shading invites a confusing glance of the water and lakeside. Woods of maple, dogwood, hazelnut, and birch trees seem to dive into the lake and emerge with the shore. The ichthyic richness of the lake’s ecosystem - a natural habitat for perch, marble trout, and brook trout is the result of local care over the centuries.
