Tips and hints
Getting thereFrom the San Michele all'Adige-Mezzocorona exit from the A22 motorway follow the signs for Mezzocorona. Go past the Vender Legnami timber yard and take the first exit from the roundabout (signposted Mezzocorona) and go along Via Rotaliana. Go straight on at the next roundabout, go over the level crossing and continue to Piazza San Gottardo. Then take Via Fratelli Grandi (last exit from the roundabout, Hotel Drago on the left) and go straight on until you are out of the town. Above you to your right in a cleft in the rock you’ll be able to see the picturesque Castel San Gottardo. Go past the electricity power station and immediately after the white house and before the bend turn right (signposted Burrone Giovanelli) and follow the narrow asphalt road through the fields getting gradually closer to the mountain. Park near the start of the Burrone Giovanelli Via Ferrata (Ischia, 2.4 km from Piazza San Gottardo).
