Destination

Malga Spora

Turn-by-turn directions

From the Tourist Board in Piazza Dolomiti we take main road No 421 towards Mezzolombardo. When we get to to the Via Crosare junction, we turn into Via Priori and walk along it until we get a few meters from the playground. Here we take an uphill path on the left (No. 301) to Malga Spora. As we arrive near Maso Pegorar, we cross the tarmac road and take a very steep mule track: this will take us near a hairpin bend of the forest road coming up from Cavedago. After walking for a few hundred meters  on the forest road, we turn right, again into path No. 301, which leads us, thorough some rather exposed and panoramic ledges (equipped with 100 m steel cable for protection), near a spring (Fontana Fredda). We continue uphill thorough a century old larches forest until we reach some pastures on a flat ground, and carry on to Malga Spora’s basin (m. 1.852); as well as grazing cows here you can see whole families of marmots. Return: via the same route.
