Turn-by-turn directions
Right in Valle dei Molini (307 m), trail 652 starts, heading in the direction of “Madonna della Neve, Ponte della Balanza”. Trail 652 almost exclusively follows a nice gravel mule track on the right hand side of the Aviana river. Given the constant gradient, you gain elevation rather quickly. After passing a water fountain and a capital, you reach “Bivio Preafessa” at 700 m asl. Here, you ignore the trail to the right, marked 685 “Cascata Preafessa” and “Ferrata G. Sega”, and you continue straight along trail 652, which continues to follow the Aviana river. The path becomes narrower as it enters a picturesque gorge. At 980 m asl you reach “Ponte della Balanza” [a bridge]. Here, you ignore trail 661 and continue straight along trail number 652, which makes a bend to the right and heads out of the river gorge. Continuing to follow the same trail, you walk along a road and trail which, among little houses and meadows, leads to the mountain hut.
You return along the same route.
VARIATION:
You can comfortably reach Rifugio Monte Baldo by car.
