From the centre of Brentonico, you reach the village of Saccone, passing through the pastures of the different villages. Then you go on walking on a road through big beech woods up to Polsa. If you go on, you will have a view on the Adige Valley, from Lessini plateau till Verona. Along the itinerary, there are various signs of the First World War such as buildings and trenches built both by the Austro-Hungarian and Italian armies. You can stop in different typical places (Malga Susine, Malga Costapelada, Malga Fos-ce, Malga Campo, Malga Campei) where you can find typical dishes made with local products. From the main itinerary, there are different possible itineraries that allow you to choose the one it is better for you.

Turn-by-turn directions

From the centre of Brentonico, follow direction Polsa up to Prada; then go on towards Saccone. You enter the village and you go on direction Pozza till the crossroad on the right to the Peace Path.

The itinerary continues towards Cestarelli up to the road which goes to Polsa (1352m). Turn left and go up till the base of  Mount Vignola, near the rests of the gutter built by the Austo-Hungarians before the First World War. The itinerary continues under the Colme di Vignola till 1553m, then down to Bocca d’Ardole (possible diversion to Malga Susine – Polsa).  From Bocca d’Ardole, the road goes up towards Corno della Paura; then to the right towards the arrival point of  Postemon chair-lift. From this point, you go down passing near Malga Costapelada till Hotel Bucaneve. You continue on SP3, direction San Giacomo. In front of Hotel San Giacomo, the itinerary leaves the main street and goes on left towards Festa di Brentonico and back to the departure.

Take Trentino Trasporti Bus number 305 from Rovereto.

By road

From A22 motorway take "Rovereto sud" exit and follow the directions to "Altopiano di Brentonico". Brentonico is 11 km far from the motorway exit.
