Unmissable climb along the military road built in 1915 towards one of the most spectacular panoramic points of the Alps.
We follow a constant but moderate climb along the hairpin bends of the mule track that leads to the top of Mount Altissimo.
After each hairpin bend, the view opens up more and more on the surrounding landscape that from the Brentonico Plateau, embraces the Lessinia and offers a spectacular view of Lake Garda.
This route is loved not only by bikers, but also by hikers, who in summer, but also in winter - snowshoes on their feet - climb up to the refuge.
And how can you blame them? The path is easily passable and the gaze runs free from the mountain to the lake!
Along the way there are also numerous testimonies of the past and of the war of which these areas were the theater.
Finally it is not uncommon to admire birds of prey, chamois or marmots that are at home here.

Author’s recommendation

North of the refuge you can see numerous trenches, rock shelters and some tunnels and a location from which to admire the surrounding mountains.
