Start from Pian delle Fugazze and follow the provincial road SP46 for about 200m in the direction of Schio. Then turn to the left and take the road named “Strada degli Eroi” (in the direction of Rifugio Papa) and proceed until Galleria D'Havet located in Val di Fieno. From here continue in the opposite direction along the upper side of Val Canale and reach Porte del Pasubio (near Rifugio “A. Papa”). Follow the downhill that runs along Strada degli Scarubbi up to Bocchetta Campiglia (about 9 Km) and then continue without further deviations to Xomo Pass. From here take the road to Ponte Verde and later the SP46 (in the direction of Rovereto) until coming back to Pian delle Fugazze.

The way between Galleria D’Havet and Bocchetta Campiglia is not provided with guard-rails. A careful drive, especially in case of downhills, is advised.

Turn-by-turn directions

Start from Pian delle Fugazze and take the road through the beech forest of Val di Fieno. Reach the top, cross General D'Havet gallery and you will see a panorama of steep sides and deep valleys with historical military settlements. Then reach Porte del Pasubio, near Rifugio Papa, the highest point of this route. From here there is the long downhill named Strada degli Scarubbi that leads to Xomo Pass and then continues in the direction of Ponte Verde. In about one hour climb you finally return to Pian delle Fugazze.

Trentino Trasporti Bus nr. 312 will take you from Rovereto to Pian delle Fugazze.

Start from Rovereto and follow the provincial road SS46 for 26 km until Pian delle Fugazze.

Equipment

During Spring and Autumn, and especially on the top of the mountain, a temperature decrease is quite common, so it is recommended to bring further clothes to protect yourself from the cold.

After heavy snowy winters, some roads might still be covered with snow until late spring.
