Turn-by-turn directions

From the locality of Sega di Ala, descend for a short distance along the SP211 road to turn immediately right onto the Strada delle Malghe road, which is first flat and then slightly uphill. Once past the hairpin bend to the left, proceed uphill again and then descend into the woods until shortly afterwards you come to the Vaio delle Cisterne forest road, which climbs steeply to the right. After an initial difference in height of about 100 m in the clearing, keep to the right and then out of the wood at the end of the meadow, climb up to the left towards Malga Lavachietto and then to the right for Maga Campo Retratto, immediately after which you meet the wide dirt road. Turning left, continue along the same track to the end near the viewpoint at the foot of Monte Castelberto.

From here, go back for about 800 m and turn right, following the signs for Malga Castelberto E111. At the end of the meadow at an altitude of 1695 m above sea level, turn left immediately and along the tracks of the grazing animals continue downhill to the mountain pasture below. From here, go up the meadow to reach the forest road that continues to the right downhill towards Malga Coe di Ala, beyond which a steep descent on a cemented surface takes you through the woods to Malga Lavachione and then back onto the Strada delle Malghe road to return to Sega di Ala.
