Author’s recommendation

At the Graupa hunting lodge with its museum on Richard Wagner, a large park awaits you, with a 450-year-old oak tree for climbing and a nice playground.

Turn-by-turn directions

The tour starts directly at Tschaikowskiplatz in Graupa. If you have time, you should definitely plan a visit to the Richard Wagner Sites right at the beginning or end of the tour. The interactive exhibition is dedicated to the life and work of the musician. The Richard Wagner cultural trail is laid out in the park. of the castle Continue along Badstraße past the old Borsbergbad, which is now a biotope. Then turn right. The path continues for a short distance along the Graupaer Bach stream. There you will find a green classroom. Continue along the Großgraupaer Kirchsteig to the Alter Wasserhäus'l. There is a nice picnic area with a view. The trail then continues along the Leitenweg. Here there are many informative panels with explanations, e.g. on the subject of dry stone walls, dry valleys and pine mistletoe. Finally, the route descends from the Rysselkuppe on the "Saxon Wine Route" along a road with hardly any traffic to the village square in Graupa before returning to the starting point of the tour, Tchaikovsky Square.
