Author’s recommendation
The restaurant on the Wolfsberg is recommended for refreshment before you continue hiking the Malerweg. With Saxon hospitality, you can enjoy wonderful regional cuisine or take a break for a drink with a fantastic view of Saxon Switzerland.

Turn-by-turn directions
From Schmilka, the Elbe ferry will take you to the S-Bahn stop Schmilka-Hirschmühle. Via the Aschersteig you hike to Schöna. You will meet the Caspar-David-Friedrich-Rundweg and follow it through the village to Wolfsberg. The trail then continues to Reinhardtsdorf with its village church, which is worth seeing and beautifully designed in a rural baroque style. Through the village you reach the Krippenberg and walk along the Püschelweg. The Elysium- and the Koppelbergsweg lead you to the Liethenmühle. You pass it and leave the village via the Alter Schulweg. You follow the Malerweg further and finally reach the Papststein via steps. After the ascent to the summit you walk down again and then up to another table mountain Gohrisch (stone). From here you come to Gohrisch via the Muselweg.
